A recent obesity study of European Member States published by Eurostat shows UK women are the fattest in Europe. It reported that in 2008/2009 nearly 1/4 of UK women aged 18+ were obese – see Eurostat article. Obesity was defined as having a BMI of over 30. In the USA, both men and women ranked higher for obesity rates than any of the 19 European member states.
The research also showed that male and female obesity rates decreased as education levels increased.
