Gwyneth Paltrow says that her children eat a low carb diet. She does not feed her children bread, rice and pasta because she believes these starchy foods are unhealthy. She decided to cut out these foods as everyone in her house is intolerant of gluten, dairy and chicken’s eggs.
The dietetic establishment have criticised her as they think starchy carbohydrate is “vital” in the diet. These nutritionists think that Paltrow is putting her children in danger as they are “at risk of nutrient deficiencies” and they “won’t be able to think straight as their brain won’t be functioning”.
Fortunately, more and more people are seeing truth from myth. The processed food industry work hard to convince us that we have to eat highly processed refined starchy foods. We do not need to eat processed junk such as cereal, bread or pasta. There is no dietary “need” to eat any of these type of foods.
Grains have been promoted as health foods but are far from it. Instead, we are told to avoid saturated fat despite no evidence to show that eating fat makes you fat. This has led consumers to replace eating whole natural foods such as red meat and butter to unprocessed, highly refined, sugary food. The result has been people are getting fatter and more unhealthy,
If Paltrow is feeding her children whole real food (protein, fats, vegetables & some fruit) then there would be nothing more healthy and nutrient dense than that. She would certainly not be depriving or starving them of anything. Giving your children a big plate of pasta or bread are empty calories and you would be depriving them of good nutrition.
