Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt, The Diet Doctor, recorded this interview with Dr. Loren Cordain earlier this year. It’s a long interview at 55 minutes, therefore, lots of areas are discussed & Paleo answers provided.
Cordain discusses his revised position on saturated fat, I.e. consumption of saturated fat when consumed with low glycemic carbohydrates is okay and doesn’t increase risk of heart disease.
Cordain still believes milk should be avoided, and provides informative insight into the negative consequences. He cites a small study where children consuming protein only from milk became insulin insensitive. However, he does go on to say that butter would be acceptable on a paleo diet.
Loren also talks about why vegetarianism and veganism is disastrous for health and how they didn’t exist in the palaeolithic era because natural selection would have weeded them out. In particular he details the nutritional deficiencies prevalent with this lifestyle.
