Chris Pratt has lost 36kg / 80 pounds by eating a low carb Paleo diet and Crossfit workouts. Pratt’s other workouts included running, swimming, boxing, and kickboxing, and he even completed a triathlon.
“I really just kind of cleaned up my diet and my life — it really just changed everything for me,” said Pratt. “I like clothes now. I have more energy. I sleep better. My sex drive is up.”
Chris increased his caloric intake to 4,000 calories a day and drank tons of water. He was surprised to find out that he actually lost weight by eating more food, but eating the right, healthy food. He says that because his body was not in starvation mode, he didn’t need to stuff himself once he had finished filming and get really fat again.
Now, he says: “It’s something that I think I can maintain because I don’t spend four hours in the gym each day. I do maybe one hour in the gym maybe four days a week, and that’s it.”
Before that, in 2012, he played a Navy Seal in the movie “Zero Dark Thirty”. He had to get into top shape, so he was doing 500 push ups a day, working out at the gym and running five miles a day but with no food. He says that he felt terrible, his body fell apart and he had to get shoulder surgery.
Chris’s weight loss advice is:
“Six months seems like a long time unless you’re looking backwards… all you have to do is just a few things everyday and remain consistent, and time will fly just as fast as it flies if you’re working hard or not. If you just cut the crap out of your diet, and if you spend an hour a day doing something physical that will make you sweat, six months will pass by, you will feel better mentally, physically, spiritually — it all is tied together.”
